ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
As an academic rheumatologist and clinical pharmacologist with a passion for policy and clinical implementation, I am dedicated to seeing improvements in the way we practice and prescribe. My work life represents a commitment to better ways of doing things, and communicating those changes to broader audiences.
EXPERIENCE
With over a decade of experience in rheumatology and a dual specialisation in clinical pharmacology, I have cultivated an interest in the intersection between the two areas. My work stretches across multiple domains: clinical practice, designing strategic healthcare interventions, public policy, medical speciality media, and clinical research.
I currently primarily work at Austin Health, a tertiary referral centre in Melbourne, Australia. Apart from my work there as a clinician, I lead the Medicines Optimisation Service, a small multi-disciplinary team of multi-skilled individuals, designing strategic healthcare interventions with a focus on data science, and contributing to public policy.
I also am an early career researcher, with interests in both rheumatology and clinical pharmacology, and currently contribute to multiple national and international research collaboratives.
Finally, I am passionate about my ongoing roles, across multiple domains: policy, editorial, and organisational. In particular, in November 2023 I was excited to start as the Medical Director of Arthritis Australia, the country's peak arthritis body and leading national arthritis charity.
